A Chicago newspaper that turns up again and again across this archive's stories. July 24, 1892. It reported that Billy Dunn still kept the oar from his Lake Mendota sea serpent encounter. In 1974 it covered the phantom kangaroo of a Chicago alley, writing that an officer who tried to handcuff the animal was thoroughly kicked. In 1987 it carried Fr Gregory Brusey's account of a great neck rising from Loch Ness. Then, on January 1, 2007, reporter Jon Hilkevitch broke the O'Hare disc story. The paper's Freedom of Information Act request pushed the FAA to review its tapes.
