Two different men named Crawford appear in the archive. William Jackson Crawford lectured in mechanical engineering at Queen's University Belfast and joined the Goligher Circle in 1915. He weighed, measured and photographed the sittings, and proposed invisible psychic rods lifting the table. On 30 July 1920 he was found dead on Pickie Rocks, Bangor. Robert S. Crawford was an Army radioman aboard the USAT Delarof in 1945. A dark sphere rose from the sea and circled the ship. Years later, as a geologist, he told the story to NICAP and to James E. McDonald.
