Archive / referrals
Send someone in. Both of you get something.
Every member has a link. Share a story with it, or the whole archive. When the person you sent pays for Pro, they pay less and you are paid back in Pro time, or, if you have an audience, in money.
Referrals · every member
- They get $5 off their first invoice.
- You get a month of Pro for each person who subscribes. Paying already? It comes off your next invoice. On Free? Pro switches on for 30 days.
- No limit on months earned. Pro time only, never cash, never a refund.
- Nothing to apply for. Make a code on your account page and share the link.

- 30% of every invoice a member you referred pays, for their first 12 months. Monthly Pro brings you about $36 over the year; yearly Pro $24 at once.
- They still get $5 off, and the same link and code work. A code typed at checkout counts too, so it works on air and in print.
- A commission clears 30 days after the payment. A refund or dispute inside that window cancels it; after it, the next payout is smaller.
- Paid monthly, on the 2nd, to your bank account through Stripe, by PayPal, by bank wire or in Kaspa, your choice on your account page, once the cleared balance is at least $20 ($100 for a wire). Under that it rolls over.
- For podcasters, newsletter writers, forum regulars, creators with a channel. Approved by hand.

Your link is umbralog.com/r/CODE. Add ?to=/story/… to land on a story, or put ?ref=CODE on any page address. A click sets a cookie for 30 days; the last click wins. An account made inside that window is yours for good. Someone who already had an account is yours if they subscribe inside the window, or if they type your code at checkout. Only a paid invoice earns anything: sign-ups are a number on your page and nothing more.
You see counts: clicks, sign-ups, paying members, amounts. Never a name, an email or what anyone read.
Rules
- No paid search ads on the site's name or on "Umbralog Pro".
- No unsolicited mail or messages carrying your link.
- No cookie stuffing: the link must be a click a person chose to make. Requests pulled in as a picture, a frame or a script are ignored.
- Where the law asks for it, say that you are paid for referrals.
- Referring yourself, or an account that is yours by another name, earns nothing. Three refunds or disputes on one code in 90 days pause its payouts until an editor has looked.
- Breaking these closes the code and forfeits what has not been paid.
