Chicago, 2017. Something large and winged was being seen over the city. A married couple on North Lake Shore Drive watched it hover about 5 ft above the sidewalk, its red eyes bright, before it shot up into the night sky. During the eclipse, witnesses on Northerly Island heard a scream like squealing truck brakes. They looked up and saw a black, bat-like shape with arms and legs flying low over Burnham Harbor. By the end of the year there were 55 reports. Researchers called it the Chicago Phantom. Most people called it the Chicago Mothman. Then the doubts arrived. A police report nobody could find. Accounts sent from the same IP addresses. The winged figure over Lake Michigan has never been explained.
