Tim Dinsdale was a British aeronautical engineer, drawn to Loch Ness by a magazine article. April 1960. He came alone for a six-day watch. On the last day, 23 April, he spotted a shape across Foyers Bay and filmed it, and the BBC showed the footage on Panorama. He also reproduced Peter O'Connor's 1960 photograph in his 1961 book Loch Ness Monster, and by one account believed until his death that it might show a real Nessie. In 1971 he was patrolling near Fort Augustus Abbey during the Brusey and Pugh sighting. The low sun blinded him.
