Columbus, Ohio. 1 March 1984. After an argument with her adoptive mother Joan, 14-year-old Tina Resch found herself at the centre of strange events in the foster home of John and Joan Resch. She was later known as Christina Boyer. The case became a reference point for others. Researcher Roll's work on her drew strong criticism, a point raised in accounts of the 1968 Olive Hill poltergeist in Kentucky. Nanninga compared the 1995 Druten stone-throwing case in the Netherlands with Tina Resch, the teenager caught on video in 1984.
