A psychical researcher, and research officer of the International Institute for Psychical Research. Some called him its chief ghost hunter. Nandor Fodor went to the Isle of Man farm of Gef the talking mongoose and stayed a week. Nothing was seen or heard. Still, he concluded at first that Gef existed. In July 1936 he investigated the Ash Manor ghost in Surrey and wrote the main account. Early 1938 brought Thornton Heath and the haunting of Alma Fielding, where he was lead investigator. In 2023 a film about him cast Simon Pegg in the role.
