Druten, a village in Gelderland. May 1995. Stones began to fly through a Turkish family's garden. Two days later they were inside the house. Clods of earth crossed the room. Windows broke. A water carafe punched a hole in the toilet door. The women of the house were left with bruises. A police officer felt sand strike his face and looked up at an empty ceiling. Neighbours watched stones fly past. Three researchers from Utrecht arrived with video cameras and a random number generator. What they filmed would split the case in two, and start a long quarrel between parapsychologists and sceptics.

Context

In 1994 a boy, known in reports as Ç., came from Istanbul to live with his father in Druten, Gelderland. He lived with his stepmother and two half-sisters, isolated by the language barrier. In May 1995, when he was 15, the stepmother and her eldest daughter returned from a visit to Turkey. Shortly afterwards, stones began to fly through the garden.
