Recurrent spontaneous psychokinesis, or RSPK, is the research term for poltergeist activity. It was proposed in June 1958 by J. Gaither Pratt and William G. Roll of the Duke Parapsychology Laboratory, after they catalogued 67 disturbances in the Seaford case on Long Island. Roll went on to apply it widely. In Indianapolis in 1962 he tied the outbreak to household tensions. In Miami in 1966 he saw unconscious PK driven by repressed anger. Hans Bender reached the same verdict in Bremen in 1965, and Andrew Green used it for the Battersea case.
