Enfield poltergeist

Event 7 stories, 1966 to 2016

A benchmark case. In this archive the Enfield poltergeist rarely stands alone. It appears as the yardstick other hauntings are measured against. The Bridgeport Poltergeist of 1974, the Goodin family house on Lindley Street, is often set beside it. Rue Morgue discusses the Pritchard family's Black Monk of Pontefract alongside it. In 1994, ITV's Strange But True? covered Enfield too. The same series brought the Cardiff Poltergeist, Pete the Polt of Mower Services, to a national audience. The excerpts say little about Enfield itself. Its weight shows in the company it keeps.
