A Scottish city of tenements, graveyards and ironworks, and the backdrop to several of the archive's stranger cases. In 1954 the Gorbals, on its south side, saw the Gorbals Vampire hunt beside the Southern Necropolis, the City of the Dead. Blame fell on American horror comics. In February 1955 a Glasgow MP cited the hunt in the Commons. November 3, 1974. Thumping noises woke two boys in Balornock, beginning the Balornock Poltergeist that drew mediums from Glasgow and London. In 2016, just south-east of the city, the Rutherglen Poltergeist sent candlesticks, lamps and phones moving on their own.
