A volcanic hill beside the M8 motorway, near Livingston in West Lothian. Young plantations grew on its slopes. November 1979. Forestry foreman Robert Taylor, 61, was there to keep cattle and sheep out of the trees when he reported a close encounter, saying a UFO had dragged him along the ground. The case became a landmark for the region, recalled in the story of the Armadale "Toblerone" UFO of 1994. It is also named beside Bonnybridge among Scotland's strangest sightings in accounts of the 1999 Prestwick incident.
