A jump jet that can hover. The Harrier turns up in these files as the ordinary answer to extraordinary sightings. In the Calvine photograph of 1990, analysts at JARIC identified a Harrier in the frame, though the MoD's press line said it had no record of Harriers there. In 1994 the ministry explained the Armadale "Toblerone" by three RAF Harriers operating near Blackridge. Yet Swan heard only a hum, and described one object. At Jarnołtówek in 2009, the witness first took the landing craft for a Harrier. He rejected the idea.
