From 1991 to 1994, Nick Pope ran the Ministry of Defence's small UFO desk. On the night of 30 to 31 March 1993, the phones rang off the hook. More than 30 sightings came in during the Cosford Incident, which he investigated and briefed to his superiors. He later said analysts found no evidence of hoaxing in the Calvine photograph, and he made that case public in 1996. He weighed in on Broad Haven and the Berkshire sightings too. In April 2009 he introduced Milton Torres at the X-Conference in Washington.
