Saturday, 4 August 1990. Around 9 pm. Two young chefs from a Pitlochry hotel walked onto the moor near Calvine, a hamlet in Perth and Kinross, and saw a silent grey diamond shaped object hovering above them. Their names have never been made public. Papers on the sighting came out in the UK Ministry of Defence file releases of 2008 to 2013, but the photograph itself was kept back. The case is often set beside the Craigluscar Reservoir disc photograph of 1994, and James Fox's 2024 documentary The Program called it the most compelling photographic case in UFO history.
