A paranormal investigator and demonologist with the New England Society for Psychic Research, Ed Warren worked alongside Lorraine Warren. In Harrisville, Rhode Island, the pair came to the Perron family's farmhouse. A séance followed in 1973. In West Pittston, Pennsylvania, they called the Smurl haunting demonic, while Paul Kurtz called it a hoax. At 208 Meriden Avenue in Southington, they declared the Snedeker house infested by demons. Horror novelist Ray Garton later said Ed Warren told him to use what he could and make the rest up.
