30 June 1986. The Snedeker family signed a lease on a rented house at 208 Meriden Avenue in Southington, Connecticut. They had come to be near treatment for their son Philip's cancer. The building had once been the Hallahan Funeral Home. Within about three hours, Philip reportedly told his mother the house was evil. For more than two years the family described shadow figures, blood red mop water, glowing sockets and attacks by something unseen. Ed and Lorraine Warren declared the house infested by demons. Two priests and a deacon performed an exorcism in September 1988. Then the novelist hired to tell the story said he had been told to make the rest up. The case became a book, a television pilot and a Hollywood film.
