A husband and wife of the New England Society for Psychic Research, they turn up again and again in the archive's haunted houses. March 6, 1976. At 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, they held a televised séance, and Lorraine said she felt overwhelming evil. In January 1986 they reached the Smurl home in West Pittston, where Ed described objects moving on a bureau. At Southington they declared the house infested by demons, and Ed later told the Record-Journal an exorcism had taken place. Not everyone agreed. At Enfield, Playfair said their role was greatly exaggerated.
