A Belgian skeptic with a habit of rebuilding the evidence. In 1992 Wim Van Utrecht reproduced the look of the Petit-Rechain triangle photograph with a small model. He argued the image was too sharp for a hand-held zoom shot, and that the two witnesses' accounts did not match. For the Calvine photograph of 1990, he proposed a Christmas star ornament hung from overhanging trees. He also wrote with Martin Shough on the 1968 Zanthus pilot sighting over the Nullarbor, where an atmospheric duct was offered in place of a dark formation.
