An encyclopedist of hidden animals. George M. Eberhart wrote Mysterious Creatures, published in 2002, and his entries keep older cases in view. For the Minhocão on the Rio das Caveiras in 1870, his encyclopedia counts the German merchant Friedrich Kelling as a second witness, though older wording says Kelling saw only the trenches. The 1962 Buran whaler sighting of six sea cow-like animals off Cape Navarin lives on in his pages. He also weighed in on the Surrey Puma. His judgement on the Pert photograph was blunt. It resembles a feral domestic cat, not a puma.
