A history blog with a taste for the strange. Several old cases in this archive survive today largely because Beachcombing's Bizarre History Blog went looking for them. In January 2015 it retold the Golden Lane ghost riot of 1880, placing it in a run of British ghost riots reported between 1867 and 1921. That same year it transcribed the report of the De Beauvoir Town crowd at St Peter's in 1898. It also read the Greene County wild man of 1851 as a bridge between the traditional hermit or outcast and modern cryptozoology.
