Martin Shough analysed radar and visual UFO cases. Several of his studies appeared as NARCAP technical reports. His NARCAP radar catalogue, RADCAT, begins on the date of the 1948 Fukuoka F-61 intercept. In that catalogue he rejected Venus and radar malfunction as explanations for the 1952 Goose Bay sightings. In 2010 he wrote for NARCAP that the BOAC flying jellyfish of 1954 might have been an unusual mirage. With David Clarke he interviewed the Lakenheath-Bentwaters aircrew. In 2008 he co-authored the Alderney study in the Journal of Scientific Exploration. That team could not satisfactorily explain Captain Ray Bowyer's two objects.
