Southampton

Place 5 stories, 1933 to 1971

The name turns up in two very different corners of the archive. On Long Island, Southampton lies about 40 miles east of Patchogue, and NICAP's 1966 casebook lists it as the only Long Island case that October, dated October 23. The other Southampton belongs to the Hexham Heads. Dr Anne Ross, a Celtic scholar, received the heads at her home there. Around 2 a.m. she saw a tall black figure against her door, half animal and half man, and her daughter Berenice later saw a werewolf-like shape on the stairs.
