The Hexham house
The boys carried the heads indoors. Then things began to move. The heads turned to face other directions when nobody was in the room. Bottles were thrown across rooms.
Paranormal record / 1971
1971. Two boys dug in a back garden in Hexham, Northumberland, and turned up two small stone heads. Palm-sized. Heavy. One with bulging eyes and a beaked nose. Then the house changed. The heads turned to face other directions when nobody was in the room. Bottles were thrown. Next door, Ellen Dodd watched a half-human, half-animal shape come towards her in a child's bedroom at night. The heads travelled south to a Celtic scholar in Southampton. There, Dr Anne Ross saw a black figure against a white door. About six feet high. Wolf above, human below. Her daughter saw it leap the banisters. By 1978 the trail ended. The heads have been missing ever since.
