Loring appears in the archive as one of the bases touched by the intrusions of autumn 1975. Unidentified objects passed over it, as they did over Wurtsmith and Malmstrom. The Joint Chiefs responded with a memorandum titled "Temperature Inversion Analysis", dated 13 November 1975. A year later, the base returned as a point of comparison. NICAP's 1976 chronology lists the Eglin AFB security police sighting over Duke Field beside Loring. The same wave of activity frames the 1976 reports over Fort Ritchie and Site R.
