Lawrence Fawcett

Person 6 stories, 1950 to 1976

A writer behind one of the field's key document books. With Barry J. Greenwood, Lawrence Fawcett co-authored Clear Intent, published in 1984. Its title came from a single line in the Loring AFB files of 1975, released under the Freedom of Information Act. The book gave the 1967 Cuban MiG-21 disintegration story its fullest form. It also first published the memo on the 1976 sightings over Fort Ritchie and Site R. There, the authors rejected a temperature inversion as the explanation for what security police and civilians described.
