Sighting record / 1976
January 21, 1976. Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico. Before dawn, security police near the flight line reported two objects. Twenty-five yards across. Gold or silver. A blue light on top, a red light underneath, and a hole in the middle. Within hours the report sat in the log of the National Military Command Center. Over the next three nights, Clovis police counted objects by the dozen. A town marshal watched a silent light pass over his car. A student journalist later claimed to have seen saucers leave F-111s trailing behind. The Air Force said it was checking radar and weather inversion data. No answer was ever made public.
