A worker at the British Aluminium Company's works at Foyers, on the south-east shore of Loch Ness. Sunday 12 November 1933. Around noon, after church, Hugh Gray took his usual walk near the mouth of the River Foyers. The photograph he took there is claimed as the first of the Loch Ness Monster. It arrived amid a wave of monster interest, after Aldie Mackay's sighting and the Spicers' road encounter. Weeks later the Daily Mail hired Marmaduke Wetherell to track down the beast, and in January 1934 Arthur Grant reported his own sighting on the Abriachan road.
