January 1934. A young motorcyclist rode into the story of the Loch Ness Monster. Arthur Grant was 21, a veterinary student at the University of Edinburgh, and he reported a night sighting of an animal on land near Abriachan. Commentators later said his veterinary training added weight to his account. His report stands among the classic land sightings of the loch, alongside George Spicer in July 1933, Margaret Munro at Borlum Bay in 1934 and Torquil MacLeod in 1960.
