A modern channel back to Victorian ghost stories. Findmypast keeps old newspaper accounts alive through its blog, and several cases in this archive reach readers that way. In a 2017 blog post it transcribed the Illustrated Police News report of the haunted Churchill cottage at Knowle St Giles, though its December 1878 date cannot fit events after a May 1879 execution. That same year it gathered the Headless Woman at the Buckingham Crossroads with other Victorian hauntings. It also attributes the detailed account of the 1895 Hackney Ghost Hunt to the Illustrated Police News, and helps carry the Garstang Ghost of 1881.
