dogman

Term 4 stories, 1936 to 2007

A term for a wolf-like creature that walks on two legs. In this archive it often arrives late, as a label applied to older stories. The St. Coletta night watchman's 1936 account surfaced decades later, after the Bray Road reports were already news, and Naish saw the early dogman accounts as a cultural snowball. Maryland's Dwayyo, first reported near Gambrill State Park in 1965, is now remembered as a dogman story. The Lawton Wolfman of 1971 was later recast by writers as Bigfoot or a Dogman.
