Linda Godfrey was the writer who put the Beast of Bray Road on the map. December 29, 1991. Her first article on the Elkhorn werewolf sightings ran in The Week, with witnesses under false names. A year later TV crews came to Delavan to interview her, and the National Enquirer paid her to stake out Bray Road. Her reporting also drew out Joe's account of the 1936 St. Coletta creature, and she reproduced his drawing in The Beast of Bray Road: Tailing Wisconsin's Werewolf. She died on 27 November 2022, aged 71. The same surname belongs to PC Alan Godfrey of the 1980 Todmorden encounter.
