A British ufologist, Jenny Randles turns up across the archive's home-grown cases as an author, an investigator and a sceptical voice. She wrote The Pennine UFO Mystery about PC Alan Godfrey's 1980 Todmorden encounter. Her view is that Godfrey may have seen a real unidentified atmospheric phenomenon rather than an alien craft. In 1987 Philip Spencer contacted her within days of his Ilkley Moor photograph, and she passed him on to Peter Hough. She also called the Silpho Moor saucer the most costly and well organised hoax ever staged in Britain. On abductions, she warned that hypnosis destroys evidence.
