British ufologist Jenny Randles investigated for BUFORA through the 1970s. With Paul Whetnall she looked into the Risley Silver Man encounter of 1978, later counting it among the strangest cases she had worked. The pair also wrote up the Frodsham "Devil's Garden" encounter for Flying Saucer Review in September 1980. In the 1973 Peter Day film case she leaned towards a link with an F-111 but left it open. She also saw striking parallels between Elsie Oakensen's 1978 car-stop and the 1980 Todmorden case.
