A West Yorkshire Police constable. In the early hours of 28 November 1980, PC Alan Godfrey was patrolling alone in a panda car in Todmorden, called out over cattle roaming loose near Ashenhurst. About 5 a.m., on Burnley Road, he became the sole witness to a close encounter. His case echoes through the archive. Jenny Randles saw striking parallels with Elsie Oakensen's 1978 Church Stowe car-stop: a car losing power, missing time, and what emerged under regression. It also stands as the companion to the Cononley A629 police sighting, and to the Rossendale reports around Bacup.
