Several newspapers carry this name, and the archive meets them in different cities and centuries. In 1897, later retellings of the Plumstead ghost riot credit the Daily News with its strangest details, including a ghost bitten by a Newfoundland dog. In 1900 the paper sent a reporter to Edith Villas in West Kensington. The neighbours did not believe in the ghost. In 1974 the New York Daily News told photographer Bob Gruen that five people had reported the light John Lennon and May Pang saw over the East Side. In 2004 the Durban Daily News ran the Naidu family's story of a shape-changing fireball.
