A London newspaper that turns up again and again in the city's stranger stories. In 1900, a report probably from the Daily Telegraph described fifteen hundred people gathered outside a house in Edith Villas, West Kensington, watching a window for a ghost. In 1934 it sent a reporter to find witnesses to the Ladbroke Grove phantom bus. After that, the story went national. Decades later it closed a different chapter. 9 May, 2001. A lynx had been caught in Cricklewood and identified at London Zoo, and the paper declared the Beast of Cricklewood caged.
