Strange but True?

Programme 7 stories, 1976 to 1994

An ITV series, and a doorway to a national audience for strange local stories. In 1994 it brought Pete the Polt, the poltergeist of a Cardiff workshop, into living rooms across the country. The same year, Ellis, Beet and Owens told the programme about the figures they met on the Stocksbridge bypass, and the Bonnybridge wave of 1992 reached it too. The series also covered the Enfield poltergeist. In 1995 Michael Aspel took the Uniondale phantom hitchhiker from the N9 to its viewers.
