Larbert, near Falkirk. January 1994. A white light kept pace with a moving car. Six people saw it. Then the encounter was caught on film. Eighteen seconds. On the footage, the light seemed to do something strange. It gave off a second, smaller white light. Later accounts name the people behind the camera as the Malcolm family. By then, central Scotland was deep in a wave of sightings centred on Bonnybridge, the area the press called the Falkirk Triangle. The film has never surfaced online. What remains is a handful of lines, a disputed date, and a possible verdict from Ministry of Defence analysts who could not decide what they were looking at.

Context

In the early 1990s, the country around Bonnybridge in central Scotland became one of the busiest UFO hotspots in Britain. The press called it the Falkirk Triangle. The wave began in 1992, with reports such as the James Walker sighting in January and the Sloggett mother and daughter in March. It kept going.
