A cryptid writer and artist, Rob Morphy kept old cases alive on Cryptopia. In 2010 he wrote up the Beast of Brassknocker Hill. January 2011. He retold the Euroa bunyip of 1890, quoting the old newspapers, and fan wikis followed. That same year he revisited the Charles Mill Lake Monster, describing a 7-foot being rising from black water, and drew the creature himself. In 2015 his article on the Ohio River Monster named it the Indescribable Octo-Man, illustrated with stills from the 1971 film Octaman.
