Loren Coleman, cryptozoologist, turns up again and again in this archive. In 1973 he was an anthropology student at Southern Illinois University. He travelled to Enfield, interviewed the witnesses and walked away bewildered. Four years later he interviewed all three Dover Demon witnesses within a week, and gave the creature its name. He wrote up the Farmer City Monster for Fate magazine and preserved the Peninsula Python sightings in Mysterious America. In 2006 he came from Portland to examine the Turner carcass. A dog, he decided. The mystery beast in the woods was another matter.
