Nottingham

Place 3 stories, 1903 to 1979

An English city with an old fairy reputation on its western edge. Wollaton Park, the deer park around Wollaton Hall, lies in west Nottingham. On the autumn equinox of 1979, children from Southwold Primary School in Radford walked there and reported gnomes in bubble cars. The Nottingham Evening Post photographed them with their headmaster, and in 2017 Dr Simon Young appealed through the Nottingham Post for the witnesses. His 2022 book carries the city's name. The city also appears in Charles Fort's Lo!, where slow-falling stones at Nottingham in 1859 sit beside the Grottendieck stone-fall in Sumatra.
