A sceptic writer, and a persistent voice of doubt in the archive's cryptid cases. Daniel Loxton went after the Thetis Lake Monster decades later. He tracked down witness Russell Van Nice, who told him the story was a big lie. On Cadborosaurus, he argued the 1933 witnesses most likely misjudged marine mammals at a distance. He also noted that King Kong had opened in Victoria about six months earlier. With Donald Prothero, he pointed to the same film in the Spicer sighting at Loch Ness. Writing for Skeptic, he dismissed the 2007 Gordon Holmes footage as a terrible video.
