A Crawfordsville reporter and member of the Fortean Society. Vincent Gaddis shaped how two strange stories reached later readers. In 1946 he wrote "Indiana's Sky Monster" for Doubt, revisiting the Crawfordsville Monster of 1891. His telling added a second night, with several hundred residents watching and some feeling its hot breath, and a third night when it never came. No 1891 newspaper confirming those nights has been found. He also reproduced the SS Watertown phantom faces photo in his book Invisible Horizons, helping make it a standard image in ghost books.
