Fate magazine

Organisation 3 stories, 1897 to 1952

A magazine that keeps turning up at the turning points of strange stories. In 1952, after the Flatwoods Monster reports, theatre booker Gray Barker wired Fate magazine. The answer came back that the story was probably a hoax, but he should investigate rigorously. In 1963 it printed a cropped, retouched version of the SS Watertown phantom faces photograph, with arrows added by ufologist Michael G. Mann. And in 1977 Jerome Clark used its pages to publish the full exposure of Alexander Hamilton's 1897 airship calf-napping tale.
