Gray Barker was a theatre booker from Clarksburg who became one of the most active chroniclers of the saucer era. In 1952 he wired Fate magazine about the Flatwoods Monster and investigated with a tape recorder. He concluded the witnesses had experienced something real. As the West Virginia representative of Albert K. Bender's group, he was told in September 1953 to stop accepting memberships. His 1956 book They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers retold the Maury Island case and pushed the idea of men in black silencing witnesses. In 1959 his Saucerian Books published Howard Menger's From Outer Space to You.
