A small town in Braxton County, West Virginia. It sits about 5 miles from the county seat of Sutton. Friday, September 12, 1952. Around 7:15 p.m., boys playing on the grade school grounds saw a bright object cross the sky and seem to come down on G. Bailey Fisher's farm. What followed became the Flatwoods Monster case, remembered in The Flatwoods Monster and The Flatwoods Monster (Braxton County Monster), and mentioned in the story of William Squyres in Kansas. Today the town calls itself "Home of the Green Monster."
