Troy Taylor

Person 5 stories, 1948 to 1991

An author and retteller of strange tales. Troy Taylor co-founded the American Ghost Society, and his versions of older cases recur across the archive. He told the 1948 Macomb fires at the Willey farm as a poltergeist mystery, with brown spots on the wallpaper that smoldered and burst into flames. In 2002 he retold the 1951 Gibbstown sightings, where children were said to have been cornered by the Jersey Devil. The Farmer City Monster found its way into his Weird Illinois. He also showed the 1991 Bachelor's Grove photograph to several professional photographers, who ruled out double exposure.
