A phantom beast of South Australia. The Tantanoola Tiger belongs to a long line of Australian phantom panther reports, and the archive's stories use it as a point of comparison. In the account of the Kamarooka panther of 1907, it stands beside that Victorian case as an early example of the tradition. In 1955 it surfaced again in the Wonthaggi Monster case. Wildlife expert Crosbie Morrison, weighing what witnesses had seen, offered a very large dog as one possibility. He likened it to the notorious Tantanoola tiger of years ago.
