A journalist who reported for Earthfiles, Linda Moulton Howe turns up across decades of strange cases. In 1989 she revisited the 1967 death of Snippy the horse, the first case to tie UFOs to animal mutilation. October 2004. She reported on the Elmendorf Beast, a carcass older residents called a chupacabra, a story also carried by the San Antonio Express-News. Then came the CARET drone photographs of 2007. A man named Ty, who said he had been cycling in Big Basin, sent her 12 photos of a strange ringed craft.
